Mayo's Move to Cloud Fosters Use of AI

Mayo Clinics announcement that it will now store its records in the Google Cloud, where it hopes it can easily use artificial intelligence to mine the data contained in the records, is making some uncomfortable, reports Wired. 

In the 1880s, when the world-renowned Mayo Clinic was still a young fraternal surgical practice in the newish state of Minnesota, its doctors scribbled notes about their patients into heavy, leather-bound ledgers.
