According to TNW, Yann LeCun of Facebook is actively pursuing human level artificial intelligence. 

When Yann LeCun founded the Facebook AI Research (FAIR) lab in 2013, artificial intelligence was entering a boom period that his research helped trigger. 

Soffos, an AI-powered learning platform for businesses, has secured pre-seed funding from the Sea and Sand Foundation. The Sea and Sand Foundation is a Toronto-based VC firm. It is acting as Soffos’ lead investor for its pre-seed fundraising round. 

According to Sky News, AI has distinct ingrained racial identity. 

The University of Cambridge study examined AI in society, including in films, Google searches, stock images and robot voices.

Researchers suggested machines have distinct racial identities and this perpetuates "real world" racial stereotypes.
